Allied Health

Supporting students to access and engage in the curriculum.

Supporting

our Students

Our Allied Health Team helps students thrive by collaborating closely with teachers and staff to create consistent and supportive learning experiences.

At St Gabriel’s, we have an in-house Allied Health team consisting of an Occupational Therapist, a Speech Pathologist and an Allied Health Assistant. The team also includes staff with expertise in supporting students with vision impairment.

A range of small group programs, such as communication groups and social clubs are run by the Allied Health team. These groups are designed to meet a variety of needs, with a focus on developing independence and supporting learning. Some of these include Lego Club, Breakfast Club, Lunch Club and social skills activities..

In addition, the team provides opportunities for the wider school community such as parent information sessions. These cover a range of topics designed to extend the support students receive at school into the home.

Our Allied Health team does not replace external therapy services. We value the vital support provided by external therapists. With parent consent, the team can collaborate with external providers to ensure consistency across all environments.
