St Gabriel's School is a Catholic Primary School in the Edmund Rice tradition which educates children with hearing impariment, intellectual and other developmental disabilities. The values of love, justice, freedom and inclusion provide the foundation of an active and cohesive community of students, families, staff and community.

In collaboration with parents, St Gabriel's is committed to educating and developing each child's abilities and where possible, interests across personal, physical, intellectual, social/emotional, aesthetic and spiritual domains.

St Gabriel's aims to:

  • As a community provide students with opportunities to encounter Jesus through the Gospels, Catholic Traditions and the charism of Edmund Rice.
     
  • Offer specialised education which responds to the needs of each student, especially in the areas of communication, independence, literacy and social skills.
     
  • Respect the individuality and dignity of its students through high expectations for learning within the context of an individualised and adjusted State and National curriculm.
     
  • Provide a stimulating and safe environment that encourages love of learning, risk taking and the development of authentic relationships.
     
  • Resource and meet students changing educational and developmental needs supporting transition to High School and inclusion in the wider community.
