Enrolment
Criteria
In the education of students with special needs, the criteria used to ascertain the eligibility for services and resources is dependent on a variety of factors. To be deemed eligible for enrolment, the following requirements are mandatory and the school reviews the following documentation to ensure students meet enrolment criteria:
- Psychometric Assessment (a current WISC, Stanford Binet or Wechsler Non Verbal ONLY, no older than three years)
- Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder/Aspergers (DSM-IV original diagnosis and updated every three years from a relevant professional confirming ASD diagnosis using standardised tools)
- Birth Certificate (copy)
- Assessments within past two years ·Medical reports (if applicable)
- and/or other relevant assessments (where applicable)
Procedure
St. Gabriel's School is a co-educational catholic special school for primary students K-6 with hearing impairment or other special needs. As a special school, St. Gabriel's provides an individualised education program for students with a clinically diagnosed disability. The aims of all the school programs are spiritual, personal, social, physical, emotional, and academic development, with an emphasis on family and community involvement.
